I had a small plastic vehicle voltron that would separate into the individual parts. I remember always going to the video store and hiring out a voltron with the lions on the cover but would get home and find that it was actually the vehicle volton movie. i chose vehicle voltron as it is the one I have the most memories of.

On one hand, Lion Voltron reeks of awesome, but it would always shit me that every episode was a progression towards cracking out the big ass sword and then ending the episode with one shot. Vehicle Voltron wasn't really a better cartoon, or even a cooler looking robot in himself, but the fact that he was made up for so many vehicles made him pretty epic within himself. He was a whole friggen armada! Made for one hell of a toy.

But I ruined my memories of it when I bought the Lion Voltron series on DVD. Every story was the same. Made for some pretty annoying viewing :(. Anyone want to buy all the boxed sets (3) off me? They're still pretty much brand new.
