I don't doubt that there might actually be a use for something like that, but I don't get why it needs to be isolated as a specific addiction. I'm sure there are plenty of people addicted to all sorts of weird shit but they don't get their own centres. |

Yeah there was this kid that played wow for like 3 days straight. Afterwards in his sleep deprived stae he jumped off his 30 something floor balcony to his death. And then there are all the stories you hear about in South Korea where they basically move into internet cafe's and die there due to a lack of circulation throughout the body. And all over an epic tier long sword, for shame. |

see now everyone is saying it's the first rehab centre for videogames but I'm sure they've been running addiction clinics in China for a while, I know I read about a centre somewhere running a rehab program somewhere in the US or Europe as well. It might be the first dedicated centre... People can get addicted to anything. I treated a kid who was addicted to warhammer 40k when I was doing Kiddie Psych. The fact that people can get addicted to something, doesn't mean it's inherently addictive or dangerous. |
