Perhaps your parents yanked the chain on you for playing games back in the day. Perhaps they still do. But we're willing to be among all the warnings - the threats of confiscation, the promise of being given more household tasks to do, and the "wait until your father gets home"s they never called the police.

Yes, one more from the "only in America" file - the Boston Herald is reporting a mother got so "frustrated" at her 14 year old son that she summoned the local constabulary to deal with her wayward spawn.

The final straw for Angela Mejia snapped at 2:30 a.m. Saturday when, “I woke up in the middle of the night and saw the light on in his bedroom,” hours after she had told him to go to sleep.

Quote:

“Sometimes I want to run away, too,” Mejia said, breaking down in tears in her immaculate apartment. “I have support from my church, but I’m alone. I want to help my son, but I can’t find a way.”

...

An argument ensued as Mejia unplugged her son’s PlayStation. Then, this mad-as-hell mother dialed 911. Police responded and managed to talk the boy into shutting off the game and going to sleep.

The feisty lad was playing "Grand Theft Auto" - it's not exactly clear how the son got hold of this "video":

Quote:

Mejia said she approves of athletic-themed videos, but as for “Grand Theft Auto,” she said, “I would never buy that kind of video. No way. I called (police) because if you don’t respect your mother, what are you going to do in your life?”

Stay tuned for the follow up article where Mejia gets robbed in a public place and complains about the lack of cops on the street. Entertainingly ridiculous as the subject matter is, the article itself looks like it's been written by a fundamentalist with an axe to grind - you've been warned.

Full Article

Other than the fact that the mother keeps referring to it as a "video", It kinda gives me the feeling that she doesn't actually sit down and Talk to her son an awful lot, nor does it say how the 14 y/o acquired the "video" if the mother didnt buy it for him.

Already read this ages ago its stupid.
Americans are stupid, they complain about everything then sue people over their own stupidity or call the cops cos they're shit parents and think cops will do it for them.

Don't even know how to parent, you dont put gaming gear or tvs in a childs bedroom, for starters.
