I was rather filthy when this was announced. I was pumped for SF4 and there was no reason they couldn't update it with DLC to add new characters and levels. i was so disappointed i stopped playing SF4 and didn't go anywhere near SSF4. Until this last weekend. A bunch of articles had seemed to pop up in front of me in regards to what has changed from vanilla to Super. I had it wrong. I should be more annoyed that I paid to be a beta tester before they released the real game. The somewhat broken original characters have been tweaked nicely. Guile and Ken feel alot better. All the characters, including Akuma and Gouken, are unlocked from the start. All costumes I paid for for the original are transferred over to this game so i don't feel as ripped off for buying them, and the game itself was a decent $68 from Big W. Really does feel like a much more complete game. Wish I'd gotten it earlier. |

I wanted SFIV when it came out but the new style of animation (3D over the cartoony look) put me off.. i rented it thinking I'll play all weekend.. and I played a total of 3 games.. 2 with Ryu, one with Ken and turned it off... This new one is even more enticing, with the characters all unlocked etc etc, but i know myself that i wont play it enough - i bought the Hyper Fighting HD (i think it was) from XBLA and i never play it.. Sounds like a great improvement though with the DLC crossovers... |

Considering the cost of the alternate costumes, they had a riot on their hands if they didn't make them available. Also, for having the original game is gives you two extra bonus costume colours. They aren't actually colours though, they're effects. The first is the blue shadow style that you see in the videos of the original, and the second is the new video style with a sketchy hatched kind of look. Pretty cool. |
