Up to chapter 3. Only playing at night when im alone to heighten the atmosphere. I love the episodic TV style chapter introduction when i start the game again. It really helps me remember whats going on and what i should be doing next. Most games i can forget what happened previously and then end up aimlessly wandering around until it cliks

You have to understand that games are not only made for people who game 10+ hours a week. 12 -18 hours is a good length for those that dont have a lot of time to game, ask some of the full time workers with family responsibility how may unfinished 20+ hour games they have.

This game is quality over quantity for sure so much that i've already started my second play through before finishing my first and can defiantly see a 3rd and 4th play through in my near future. There is also free dlc out in a month for this!!

Jam you have to lay off the Achievements bro, seriously.

While i was typing this my Limited edition of AW just arrived. :D

I agree, this comes close to my GOTY. Yeah there's no multiplayer, and its very linear, but its a brilliant game! Even if you just rent it over 3 days to play it through, DUUU IITTT.

Yeah, and like Wolf said, there is already a free DLC coming out in July, and its confirmed there will be at least one more after it.

Such an awesome game.

I think game devs are slacking off these days in game developments, 10-15hrs is fuck all on a game, when you're paying over $90 for a game, I expect to get some decent re-playability and at least a decent story to back it up.

Fallout 3 had it, GTA has it and I'm sure RDR has it to some extent.

Regardless of family or not its still short, gaming industry is getting larger these days and players are demanding more.

Anyway.

You should sell AW Limited Edition. since you have it already and are about to finish it, I doubt you'd play it again. Story driven stuff like AW is pretty much a once only play through.

So many strong opinions Jam.

We'll i guess we both look for different things in a game, im more concerned with a good gaming experience than how many hour of my life a game will suck away.

If you had followed this game at all you would never think to call the developers slack.

The limited edition is the best i've ever had. :D

Oh and i havent paid over $90 on a game for a long time. The $75 i paid for this i consider a bargain, Ann and i have already got a whole lot of enjoyment for what costs less than a meal out.

I'll just repeat my Siren comment... any of you peeps who haven't played that and love AW need to get onto the Siren love, from what I'm hearing.

Oh and re: the game length - Wolf is right. Think of it this way; you pay $30 bucks (on average) for a new movie on DVD/Bluray. Thats 1.5-2 hours entertainment, maybe 2-3 if you include the extra features. So how is $90 for 10-15 hours of entertainment bad value??

I'd rather have a short game that's entertaining from start to finish, than a long game packed with filler. I just don't have the time anymore.

This game is amazing, but the thing that makes it so cool is not the game its self. The story is told through so many ways; the game it's self, the mini series, the soundtrack, and the book (found in the limited edition), oh and not to mention the manuscript both in game and out of game. Each tells part of the mystery that the others dont.

Alan wake really gives the feel of discovery and mystery. Its not the game you should play in just on or two sittings, half the fun is thinking about it.

If the havent got it already do every thing you can to find a copy of the limited edition, this will be my GOTY (at least untill Portal 2 or Reach).

Each time i boot it up, im only playing through 1 chapter at a time which im finding pretty cool, Makes it more like a TV series where you do go away and think about it (As wolf is saying) and also get excited to wait and see what happens in the next chapter.

The manuscript part is pretty clever. Its a joy when you see one a bit further up, makes you rush to see what it says and help explain a bit more that will or has happened. Some of the moments that depict what will happen later on has made me think 'Shit, how do i end up in that scenario'

Up to chapter 4 Now B)

How many in total Wolf?
