Thank you both!!
And yea, i used to be real into Naruto, but i have since been into it less and less.
I read the new chapters of the manga when the come out, but i haven't read the new ones in over a month.
I'm just waiting for Sasuke and Naruto to kill each other and the whole village in their super battle and finally end this age old manga.
More or less, i just like making Ninja OC's with bright colored clothes, which i find i can only get away with on Naruto.
On my DA i have like 3 different OC's for Naruto.

Oh, and ssblitz, i have like 30 different pictures i started and didn't ever finish.
It's more common than you think.
I just have too many ideas and not enough hands and time to draw them all.

Also...posting this thread reminds me of the fact that i need to start drawing more video game art.
Yea, i should work on that.

Damn, you did that first one on a ipad!?
I never messed with one, but drawing with my fingertips sounds hard and annoying.
I couldn't imagine getting that kind of quality drawing on something like that!
Sometimes you just have to give drawing a break and come back to it later.
I'm on a similar hiatus right now actually.
I was getting annoyed with my lack of drive to draw, so i took a nice two week break and eventually i will kick back into gear and get some things finished and such.
:D

Yeh, Drawing on the iPad can be a hassle because of the fact you can't really get some fine touches done due to the size of the finger ect but it does seem to handle well, plus you can zoom in to 2500% :D I did buy one of those iPad pens the other week, which seems to work a fair bit better than using your finger, but its still big.....like the size of a pinky really. I still prefer free style pencil drawing though

I don't know what i would do without my tablet, really.
It's my lifeline, art wise.
I swear, going digital with your art makes you never want to touch a paintbrush/pen/color pencil ever again.
I drew traditionally (which you can see in the first two pictures) for like 6-7 years, but ever since i bought my tablet like 7 months ago, i haven't drawn on paper at all.
Plus it's easier to upload to Deviantart because i don't have to scan it or take crap quality pictures of it, which ruin the quality.

I use a cheap ass Genius MousePen tablet that i got off Amazon for like $50.
I would have gotten a Wacom, but their tablet's of the same general price are like two times smaller than mine.
Yay for my cheapness!
And i use a downloaded full version of Paint Tool Sai because, again, i am cheap.
It's an old version but it does the job.
I also use Paint.net for removing white backrounds on my .png pictures because my hacked version of Sai won't let me do it.

Ah cool. I picked up a Wacom Bamboo from Harvey Normans awhile ago because they were discounted a fair bit. Only ever used MS paint though as a program.....so i didnt really get far with it :ermm: .

Been meaning to get a decent program for awhile but never eventuated. I kept looking at head fuck programs that seem to need a 3 year course just to get a single paint stroke on the screen ^o) I'll have to check out Sai, sounds good and from the pics above, looks good

I went through the same thing. I downloaded photoshop and ended up spending more time reading up on how to use the damn thing than drawing.
Sai is simple, yet it has most of the bells and whistles you will need to create a great picture.
Sai would most likely be a great fit for you!

I very much approve Sai :D Very easy to use, yet complex enough to get fancy with

Whipped this up just to get a feel for it based off a picture from the web. Found the Airbrush the best to use. Dunno how i'll go with colouring though :ermm:

Badass.
I use a combination of the pen tool and a bunch of custom pens i made.
When i'm outlining a picture though i use strictly the edited pen tool i have that has the hardest edge it would allow.
I also recommend when outlining, instead of using the lineart layer, use a normal layer, the pen tool, and set your stabilizer (it will be in the top right corner of the program, if you look, you will find it.) to s-7 or tinker with bit to get the feel of it.
It smooths out your lines if you happen to have shaky hands.
I do so i use it.
If you need any other tips or help, i know a lot about Sai, so ask away.

Photoshop isn't all that bad, I play around with it as a second or third hobby. Takes a little while to learn but you can make some seriously cool stuff with it. Though I'm mostly just playing around with photo manipulation with it, but slowly trying to teach myself the digital art that people seem so good at, until I can get back to tafe to do it properly.

Tafe wont teach you much, when I went they show the basics and a few techniques but 90% of the time you need to play with the software yourself and learn what ways to accomplish the final result.

I was using 3D Studio Max and Lightwave before I went to tafe and they showed us how to use "infini-d" on Mac at the time which was some piss-poor attempt at 3D modelling.

Most of my PS skills comes from self learning not what Tafe showed or should say didnt bother to show.

Ahhh Awesome. Stabilizer helps heaps. I can use the pen now without it looking like a shaky piece of shit :D
