SR3 has been the most fun game I have played all year! Does anyone know how to find Professor Genki? We have seen him twice and he is so funny. The first time we saw him he was running around and kicking people in the nuts then punching them in the nuts. Then he started attacking gang members for us. The second time we saw him he was blowing people up with a rocket launcher but then when Wil shot him he tried to kill Wil. I want to find him again but don't know how. |

Genki appears randomly, after I finished the game he appeared just opposite from where I spawned so I killed him. Ran down the street and there he was again so I fired a couple of rockets up his date. When you kill him he drops a couple of hundred thousand in cash. |

It's true. I stopped playing it because it forgot what made SR2 so awesome. The new characters are not as good as the older ones, and the older ones are both barely seen and seem to have a personality shift in between games. Gameplay wise, they have watered down the claiming of territory to the point of it being a non-event, and there is no reputation limits for doing missions, you can just go one after the other. It's also as buggy as fuck, and I've had to fail missions and restart the console a few times to get passed some of them. Most criminal of all though is if, like me, you've been waiting all this time for more Johnny Gatt hilarity, you're going to be seriously fucking pissed. Hugely disappointed in this one, and I don't think I'll bother finishing it while I have a big pile of other stuff to play. It's still better than GTA4 though.... |

I put the controller down on this one only a couple of days after picking it up and giving it the odd go here and there. Only reason i stopped was because of the plethera of other games to play at the time, but i just havent feel the urge or desire to put it in and get going again with it.....Maybe once ive sifted through the pile a bit more i might then decided to pick it up and get back into it but atm there just seems to be no desire to go back. With Uncharted Down now, ive only got Skyrim, Halo, Rayman, COD (Finish the Campaign and be done with it), Sonic Generations....All i can think of atm...to get through now |

I absolutely loved it at first, but then the more I played the more I got the same sort of feeling as Hiss. I'd pretty much explored the whole map, and couldn't stop thinking it was missing a lot of what SR2 had. And I also preferred the structure of SR2. I'm stopped playing cause all my main gaming time was going on skyrim. I've read that the last third/half of SR3 gets much better/crazier, so Im not completely writing it off yet... |

funnya about the buggy comments, i did not have a single issue with SR3 however i gave up on SR2 as it would just constantly fuck out and freeze my console |

I've got it on PC and it's a bit glitchy, and was a bit buggy at first but they patched it fairly quick (would freeze up and run super slow, game was still playing but at 1 frame every few seconds. After a few minutes it would fix itself). I actually like the physics glitches. Funny. |

The two bugs that caused me the most grief involved Pearce not giving me a gun when he was supposed to and a sky diving tank getting stuck in the sky. Both are well documented, and the only fix for both is a full reboot, try again and cross your fingers. Just restarting the mission doesn't cut it, you need it to load the save clean. The tank one took me a few cracks. Never had any problems with SR2. |

What made SR2 great was dominance. You felt like you were taking ownership of the city, you were fighting for it and you had to protect it. The rewards came with it and your dominance grew and you upgraded your cribs and your gangs, and your HQ got flashier the bigger you got. Every piece of the map you turned purple was a small victory, and the whole thing was done with a shit ton of character and cockiness. My cockney character and Johnny Gatt simply amplified all that I was thinking and leading the way with personality. SR3 is a list of missions where you do crazy shit. You can buy a crackhouse for a hundred bucks and you take over the territory for good. I have no actual reason to do any side missions, I can just follow the laid out path of main missions and the game will be done. Shandi has lost the character that made her hilarious, Gatt is a fucking prologue, and I can't even replicate my SR2 character thanks to a total lack of options. There's so much less customisation and things to buy that they have practically said "you're character will look like this". So if I'm not playing to dominate, upgrade, customise and laugh my arse off at the power of the Saints, WTF am I playing for? To get to the end? The new characters suck too. Most of the humour in this game crashed with the plane in the first 10 minutes IMO. The SR2 crew play off each other brilliantly, while the new ones are a dog's breakfast of leftover ideas. I am brutally let down by this game. Of the two games that I was dying to get my hands on the most, I can't believe that (but am extremely happy with) Sonic was the one that exceeded expectations while SR3 went backwards. But hey, it looks pretty, right? |

In dx11 it looks outstanding. Agree with all of your points above. It's a real shame, as if they could have kept that structure and customisability (which to me seemed a bit of a no brainer, the customisability especially - how did they think going backwards on that was a old idea) and added in the bits that are better (graphics, weapons, general mayhem) then it would have been perfect. |
