I know it is just a yearly rehash and there are not many soccer fans on here, but this years one feels different to me. The game play feels slower and you seem to have to build your play up more instead of just going end to end like in the past. The runs and dragging people out of position seems to be alot more important.

Hm i thought about this, since I love football, but I played Fifa 11 (I think) unless it was the World Cup one, and it just seemed the same as every other Fifa not much to them.. so I was unsure of how much they actually upgraded since Fifa 11 and actually made it worth getting.

Is it actually really any better, as I got tired of the same old running from one end to the other and shooting with the same old rehash feeling.

I think it is better. I haven't played anything except exhibition matches against family so am not sure against the full on AI. It is not much of an upgrade but noticable to me. Just play the demo and see if you like it.

Its pretty damn good, as usual, they give you just enough new feel for it to make a difference, whilst holding back massive changes so they can dribble it out a year at a time.

Do they still have that first person style feel to build a character up from scratch and play that on your favourite team?

I could never get the hang of the first person (or third as it is) view with the ball coming at me and going away from me, I always preferred the top down with the action going left to right view.

Yep.

But in one of the Fifa's you can make a character (i.e yourself) and put it into a team, level it etc etc skill wise.
The camera I was talking about was the one that puts you in the last quarter section of the field (or maybe from midfield) and its facing you so the ball comes in from the opposition where you sit and then run the ball towards behind your TV so to speak. this mode made it easier to dribble and shoot I suppose at the goalie like you would with that penalty shootouts.

Anyway, that mode was alright just really hard to actually play that way, I was curious if they made it simpler and easier to play in the way of getting some decent shots and stuff in other than the stale old attack from the wings and cross to score, most of the time those were the easiest and I could never pull off fancy tricks without the AI fucking me over.

Specially not a bicycle kick.
