Resident Evil 6 is set for release on October 2nd, 2012 and we couldn’t be more excited to get our hands on the title. We’ve got some new info and screenshots to keep you up to date with the latest in Capcom’s highly anticipated installment.

- The C-Virus will be the new ultimate “bio-weapon” in this title.

- Zombies will now wield axes, pipes and guns. If properly disarmed, these can be used against them.

- Zombies can now dash, jump and climb.

- Players can move and shoot, run into cover and dive onto the ground and fire while on their backs.

- All new Mercenaries Mode is available Day 1 for everybody, no DLC stipulations.

- Mercenaries Mode will be Capcom’s boldest, most expansive mode yet

- A tramatic event occurs in Chris Redfield’s life during his mission in Lianshang, China. This completely changes his personality to a more cryptic and pessimistic Chris Redfield.

- Ada Wong is somehow responsible for the Tragic event in China, which sets Chris on a rampage after her.

- Wesker’s son’s name is Jake Muller, who is a mercenary fighting in Europe with the goal of earning cash for him and his mother.

- Jake is immune to the current viral outbreak and is contacted by Sherry Birkin in attempt to convince him to help save the world from the recent catastrophe.

- There are 3 seperate campaigns combined in one story, all taking place across the globe: Sherry and Jake, Leon, and Chris.

- Leon’s first mission, taking place in a University, will be a throwback to the original RE games in which horror and atmospheric tension are the key elements in place.

It's pretty funny that being able to move and shoot has to get a special mention as a feature!

Its a 2P campaign is it?
Should be good if its got that originating RE style horror to it I remember from the old school RE series on PSOne.

Hopefully this is better than RE5 with improvements and ignoring the abomination of Operation Ratshit City.

The next Resident Evil game will have 255 minutes of cut-scenes, according to a filing by the British Board of Film Classification.

That's four hours and fifteen minutes. Hope you like cinematics, Resident Evil fans.

For comparison, the BBFC lists Resident Evil 5 at 65 minutes and 17 seconds. Resident Evil 4 is 127 minutes.

Metal Gear Solid 4? 545 minutes and 47 seconds.

Fuck... gotta waste time watching that shit rather than playing the game.

Talk about trying to pad out a game... prob only has 2hrs gameplay and a shit ton of watching clips.

Am I the only one that really doesn't mind cutscenes? I love cutsence in games. MGS4 had a alot of time spent in cutscenes but thats the nature of the series, the only way it could really flesh out its story. Anyway I get it, you want to play video games, not watch a movie, but I play games mainly for the storyline and if that involves watching a fair chunk of cutscenes then so be it

Large cutscene's are ridiculous, and I won't play a game if it has them because they bore the shit out of me. I play a game to be involved and actually do things, and plenty of other companies have quite happily incorporated storytelling into the gameplay itself, or at least made them interactive. Resorting to hours of watching shit is just fucking lazy IMO.

And lets be uper honest here and admit that the vast majority of these games with excessive cutscenes are usually made up of a ton of rambling dialog. It is mostly crap that can be cut out, hence why it bores the shit out of me. Do the writers of that shit have editors?

I don't mind cutscenes as long as they are skippable, not everybody wants to sit down for hours and watch scenes just to get to the next part *cough*MGS4, if they are skippable it also adds a large chunk of replay-ability as you saw the cutscenes already, you shouldn't be forced to watch them again if you don't want to.

Personally though, I'll likely watch all the cutscenes from the game

Just like Diablo 3 when I got the game, you're watching them and Im like "shut the fuck up, skip skip, lets kill shit, i don't care, fuck off, you're all going to die anyway" while waiting for you to finish watching them.

AND, I'd never played the game before.
AND, I still don't know what Diablo 3 is about.
AND, I really don't care either.
