During this years annual E3, Deep Silver came out of left field with the surprise announcement of Dead Island: Riptide. Aside from a logo, platform specifications, and a trailer due out over the summer no other details have been shared. As curious as I am, I decided to dig for more information. Online retailers have the game listed for $49.99. With that said, many gamers have been wondering if the next installment is simply a remake with new characters, weapons and skill trees, similar to Capcom‘s approach with Dead Rising 2: Off The Record. Dead Island fans fear not, Deep Silver’s very own Aubrey Norris has squashed any concerns with the matter confirming to me via Twitter. When asked about the pricing point being possible due to a remake, she shot it down and explained why. “It is a new game. Not a remake.” She ended with: “That’s not a placeholder that’s the real price! It’s the end of a console cycle- we think this price makes a lot more sense given that :)” With no release date given, I’d suspect the game will be due out in 2013. With the lowered price point due to “the end of a console cycle,” this could very well mean the next generation of consoles isn’t far off as big companies like Microsoft and Sony claim.

The fans of shooters will undoubtedly have attempted to get through Dead Island with Purna, the seasoned weapons expert. Unfortunately they soon came to a rude awakening and often had still most of the slaughtering zombies with melee weapons. In itself not bad, but you are therefore simply the experience of your character wrong. All extras will expire and you would actually have been better off with Sam B or Xian Mei, which often resulted in disappointed gamers who out of necessity but their game rebooted.
During the presentation that Deep Silver gave at the GamesCom, we got more clarity about the fate of the rifles and pistols in Dead Island: Riptide. Also Deep Silver and Techland noticed that ranged weapons less effective because they lacked firepower. Not only that, but when you finally found a weapon that had worked properly you could never find ammo for. Scandalous yet? In Dead Island: Riptide is at a distance of zombies of great importance. Therefore, pistols, besides the addition of mines where you can lure over stupid zombies delicious, very high in esteem.
When the presentation was over, it was time to be bold. "His melee weapons again a lot more effective than guns?" We asked. Which the team without hesitation replied:
"Nope, we did not do guns NOTICED That Their job all that well in Dead Island and so we decided to make Those more 'special' in Riptide. Not only did we make them more powerful, but more plentiful aswell. Oh, and ammunition will not be that much of a problem either. Trust me! "

Even if one at Deep Silver are not quite at the release of Dead Iceland: Riptide in Germany currently believes it has unveiled the title at gamescom ever behind closed doors.
In the sequel we also relies on a strong co-op partner and return to the familiar characters like Logan or Purna. But new characters will find their way into the game. Furthermore, we suggested that you be level from the original take over directly to a final decision, however, seems to endure yet.
As the scene again serves the island of Hanoi, which has now been completely overrun by zombies, and new areas to explore features. From the originally planned flight was unfortunately nothing because the rescuing helicopter crashed on a swamp. First goal is to bring in security and seek a ruined church that is in the middle of the swamp. On your way there and on the supposedly safe goal is of course to defend themselves against the zombies that are once in a pure feeding frenzy of. About the story itself there is still completely silent, so one can only speculate whether it back for their own survival and escape from the island is or whether one looks deeper into the origin of zombie outbreak.
Here Deep Silver also made equal before the first new gameplay elements, for example, that you can use the environment to to defend themselves and to create safe places. As an example, they showed a barricade that can be built in order to protect yourself from the zombies. Furthermore, adds new weapons like mines, which can be particularly effective use against larger zombie groups. Furthermore, Deep Silver revealed that especially ranged weapons will now be much more effective than in the original one and also to scarce ammunition must not worry.
Although the game is still in an early production stage, Deep Silver promises further improvements in terms of graphics as a clearer detail, better lighting and shadow effects, as well as a realistic water optics. Moreover, the changes this time around by circumstances such as rain or the like.
Dead Iceland: Riptide appears 2013th An official launch of the title is scheduled for this weekend on the PAX Prime event.
