Alfie joined WW1 as an underage soldier, originally a religious man he believed that the war beginning on his 16th birthday was a sign that he was destined to fight for his country. There was also no conceivable way he was going to watch his brothers go to war and leave him behind.
Being younger than his brothers, Alfie is a nice mix of both the brawny attitude of Will, and the cunning of Tobias. He studied them as he grew older, and followed the examples of both, making sure to outline their strengths, and avoid inheriting their weaknesses. As a result of this, he is a valuable asset to the Blackpool Blighters, both helping to plan operations and having the ability to outwit his enemies, alongside also having the courage and strength to sometimes get his hands dirty, where appropriate.
During his time at war, Alfie lead a raid on an enemy trench, in which he rescued a comrade who had been taken as prisoner of war. In this operation he almost died by the hands of a formidable German high-ranking officer whom had been harassing the British frontier for some time, and took a bullet in the process. Nevertheless he succeeded in the mission and returned with the former valuable prisoner, later receiving the Medal for Distinguished Conduct as a result of the stories his comrades relayed surrounding the event.
Since returning from war, it took Alfie some time to adjust back to civilian life. Having experienced the horrors of war at such a young age left a chasm in his understanding of normal working life, which he originally filled through being involved in boxing. He spent his first year back from war in this occupation, earning large amounts of money from bets upon his own fighting, and after a year had passed he finally ceased his endeavors into the boxing world, and returned to his brothers’ sides to aid them with the Ash Family Inc. business ventures.APPEARANCE ;
It has been mentioned in the past that Alfie has received the luckier-end of the gene pool in regards to looks, when seen beside his brothers. This translates into his sharp features and slight baby-face, ad striking eyes which seem to delve into a person’s soul upon first contact. Seemingly constantly analytic, the way Alfie holds himself causes those around him to feel uneasy at best, with a slight yearning for the need to impress him, in fear that he will lose interest.
Through boxing and serving in the Great War, Alfie has built a lean structure to his person, especially in his upper body. This has allowed him to develop an impressive muscle definition throughout his body, allowing him to deliver swift, powerful strikes. Besides this, Alfie chooses not to favor brute strength, and instead picks his attacks carefully, executing them with both precision and power.
