Peach: *Yawns* Good morning world! Daisy: Peach, the whole world can't hear you. Peach: Oh Daisy, why do you have such a negative attitude? Daisy: Psh! I do not have a negative attitude! Peach: Yeah, whatever. So, what do you wanna do today? Daisy: I heard they opened a new cafe down the street. Peach: Oh yes. I think it's called the Gold Cafe or something. Daisy: It is. Peach: Let's go and have breakfast there! *Outside the Gold Cafe* Peach: Wow! This place is made of gold! Daisy: Very impressive. The person who owns this place must be super rich. "To me, the tiered wedding cake is nonnegotiable. You have to keep the top so you can eat it on your first anniversary, or your husband will leave you for a massage therapist." prom dresses VENUE:prom dresses Campus weddings are best in summer, when students have vacated the premises and parking is easier. But think twice about an outdoor reception; it gets expensive to bring in a tent and all the fixings. Stick to an indoor space (like an alumni or athletic center with banquet facilities) instead. $750 wedding dresses DECOR:wedding dresses Choose a game day–themed luncheon or, if you're not jocks, go with an academic look. Have the florist make arrangements incorporating the school colors, name guests' tables after college courses, and make bookmark favors with notes explaining that a donation has been made to a scholarship fund. $500 wedding gowns FOOD:wedding gowns Keep it simple and do stations of your college favorites, such as sliders and fries, nachos, hot wings, and ramen noodles with gourmet toppings. Rent an ice cream cart for dessert. $6,000 wedding dresses DRINK:wedding dresses Since it's the middle of the day, guests won't expect a full bar—which can save you big bucks. If your gang had a go-to drink back in the day (remember rum and Coke?), resurrect it as a signature cocktail. And have a couple of kegs of beer, which you can serve in cups featuring the school logo. $1,500 MUSIC: You're surrounded by young talent that's hurting for cash. Hire a string quartet or some key members of the college orchestra or band. (Get referrals from the student-activities office or the music department.) Put the school song on your playlist. $500 RENTALS: Talk to the facilities, admissions, and athletics departments about decor, like banners, that they use for game days or promotional events. Cut down on rentals by using a space that's already outfitted with tables, chairs, and other essentials, to free up your budget so you can splurge on linens. Also put money toward lighting: Rent perimeter lights (save by handling pickup, delivery, and setup yourself). They'll help change the room's mood. $300 TOTAL: $9,550. |

Waitress: Here is your food. Enjoy! Peach: Oh wow! This food is great! Daisy: Oh yes. I agree. Toadette: Can I try a bit? Peach: *gives some sandwich to Toadette* Toadette: Mmm this is good! Mailtoad: *runs in* Princess Peach! You must stop eating that! Peach: And I should because? Mailtoad: The chef here has put brainwashing chemicals in the food and drink! Whoever has it becomes her slave! SHE'S MORE EVIL THAN BOWSER!!! Daisy: Peach! Are you listening?! Peach: I ONLY LISTEN TO QUEEN PLUM Daisy: OMIGOSH!!! Toadette, can you do something? Toadette: I ONLY DO WHAT QUEEN PLUM TELLS ME TO Daisy: Oh dear. Oh yes! I remember I have some special antidote. *Gives antidote to Peach and Toadette* Peach: Oh no! What happened! Toadette: Oh my gosh that was weird! Townspeople: ALL HAIL QUEEN PLUM ALL HAIL QUEEN PLUM Daisy: Oh no!!! She's got the townspeople. Peach: We have to stop her. Plum: Hmm. Everything is going well. Now I have to get rid of those two princesses and the mushroom girl. To be continued... Plum
