There is a rumor going around that Windows 8 will allow you to play Xbox 360 games. I know most of us here are ps3 gamers but it's interesting news regardless. According to sources, Xbox 360 on PC will have a subscription fee (just like Xbox Live). However, when it comes to online gaming, it will use Windows Live Marketplace and as a result, PC owners will not be able to compete against console owners (at least in initial stage), due to plausible frustrations (mouse vs. controller). Why would Microsoft do that? |

Wait wait wait.... Besides the exclusives why would anyone dare own a xbox?? Besides, who would buy xbox360 games to play on pc when you can buy the same game for pc... This just doesnt make sense other than to be a money grab.

Do Win 8 computers come pre installed with some high end graphic cards, but at a reasonable price? |

I'm sure win 8 will be compatible with most systems regardless of graphics card. Just like windows 7. Although with this xbox thing it might mean seeing some like that. |

Maybe it'll be done with OnLive or whatever it's called. |

OnLive isn't owned by microsoft. Funny thing is it's probably better than whatever microsoft do come up with.

The only reason I bought a PS3 back in the day was because I wanted a Blu-ray player and my brother-in-law had a 360 downstairs. Despite the fee, I like Live better than PSN. Generally, you get more content, more exclusive releases and more timed exclusives. Also, most multi-platform games look or run better on the 360 (you can argue whether its due to shoddy ports or not, but the fact remains the 360 version is often a little better). The 360 has cross-game chat / parties - something we were led to believe we'd be getting with PSN and Sony's never materialized and a much, much larger community. On top of that, the newer 360s (the black ones) have wireless N cards in them. I'd rather run wired anyway, but it's nice that it's there. Another nice thing about the 360 is that it has an upconversion chip, while the PS3 just scales to a 1080p resolution if the developer includes that support. Here's a bit about that ---- The PS3 has no internal hardware scaler, which means games that are 720p native can only be shown in 720p or 480p; there is no scaling up to 1080p or 1080i. This causes people with older HDTVs to have issues with the available resolutions, and keeps them from playing the games in anything but 480p. It's a vexing problem for a system that's supposed to be HD, and this issue is one of the most challenging that Sony faces. I ask the Microsoft guys how important it was for them to include a scaler in the 360. "It was a critical design decision; we wanted the 360 to be high-definition, not just 1080p or some other standard. That's why we included component cables in the box; there is no HDTV that doesn't have a component in," said Greenberg. ------------ The annoying things about the 360 are no bluetooth, still selling controllers with battery packs that require 2 AA batteries or you have to spend additional money to buy a rechargeable pack and, of course, paying for Live. I've always said though that the 360 is a better gaming system and I think it's still true today. I love my PS3 but I'd love to have a 360 as well. |

360 has better competition too. At least in GB's case. But i still wouldn't pay for live. |

I don't know about the competition part. From what I've read in the EAUK forums, the 360 guys go play on PS3 and get worked. Look at most of the megahigh KDRs, they're on 360. Plus, you remember that gimp Paul we had in SxS for a while? All hot shit on the 360 but he sucked on the PS3. Of course, both systems have great players. Hmm, nevermind, I get what you were saying - more active competition on GB on the 360 (Brotherhood for instance). 8D |

360 will only dominate GB for another year or so. Most players are making the transition over to the PS3 since the CoD Pro Circuit has moved over to it. 360 will continue to have Halo and possibly BF, although at the beginning, both PS3 and 360 were close in BF. |

And yet by the 2nd season they had twice as many teams as we did, and then in the last 2 seasons around 3 times as many lol |
