http://www.walmart.com/ip/Acer-PT.SGM02.002/16608489 I'm thinking about buying this computer soon. My current one has begun to show it's age and while it runs very fast browsing the internet and whatnot, it's terrible for gaming. I am getting BF3 on PS3, but I figured if this PC is a good one, I could also give the PC experience a try. It seems to match the recommended requirements for BF3, except I don't see anywhere on the description of what type of graphics card the computer has? EDIT: It has an integrated NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE graphics card. My bad. Edited by Harlan, Oct 12 2011, 01:49 AM.

Great specs for an amazing price BUT the integrated graphics lets it down if you want to do some serious gaming with it. You really need to invest in a great high spec graphics card, perhaps for christmas or something if you want to really play bf3 well enough. Besides that its current specs will play it fine but only if you put a dedicated graphics card in it. Integrated just isn't good enough. It has 2 PCI slots too so you could even put a second graphics card in. Honestly it's an amazing deal for what you get. I'd go for it. |

Would this one work? http://shop.amd.com/US/_layouts/shop/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=HD695XZNDC®ion=us-en I'm not sure what I'm looking for in a good card, lol. I don't even really know how I'm going to put it in. Edited by Harlan, Oct 12 2011, 12:27 PM.

Should be yes. I use nvidia though. Not had an ATI Radeon card in forever. Both good though. It's just preference. Video Card: DirectX 11 Nvidia or AMD ATI card, GeForce GTX 460, Radeon Radeon HD 6850 That's the recommended graphics cards for bf3. When i'm card hunting i also look for vids on youtube showing the cards in action so you know how it'll play the games. Hope that helps

We may have a problem. I read that the tower is pretty small so if I want to upgrade the video card I might have a hard time finding one that will fit. :/ I came across a post by a guy saying he upgraded the same computer with these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148434 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817338063 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102875 Would that be a viable solution or is this guy a retard? Ehhh pretty weak graphics card. Good budget one though. Small towers are a pain because they're not only hard to upgrade in but they can over heat if they're not properly ventilated. Which can cause further problems. |

Yeah, I didn't realize that. I guess I'll just try to find a good low profile card. I don't know what I'm going to do when I do buy all the stuff to upgrade it, I have no clue how to open it up and put it all together. Lol |

Watch a lot of tutorials. Do a lot of research. Stay with nvidia for graphics, things are just easier with them when it comes to drivers and all their software compared to ATI. Graphics cards aren't that hard to put in compared to some things, just make sure it's all plugged in to where it can be but watch a step by step tutorial if you plan on doing it yourself. Make sure you get decent sized case if you plan on upgrading aswell, nothing more annoying than finding out you can't fit everything in even if it has enough slots (depends on the size of the card you go with). |
