I think Blake being Robin was obvious. :/ The only thing I didn't like was that his name was Robin. not Dick Grayson. Also, WTF was that about Bane protecting and loving Talia? Was that in the comics?

Yeah i thought it was obvious to fans of the batman series as Blake was Dick Graysons middle name. Plus once batman mentioned about wearing a mask to him i figured it must have been after hearing the rumors. Not sure about the bane protecting and loving talia though. May have to do a google search on that.

The one twist i didn't see coming was the talia twist though. Didn't expect her to be the child. Was a great twist.

When Ra's al ghul was shown to be the father of the child, I was nearly screaming that Bane wasn't his son. I was glad that Talia was in it.
But then why would they call a character who'd be the new batman as his real name as robin? Makes no sense. Batman will always be Bruce Wayne. John Blake was an orphan, as was Robin. Robins middle name was Blake. Nolan just said He'd never be in his movies because it would have spoiled one of the biggest twists in the film, at least for those not as aware of the batman history. Only reason he had the John Blake alias was to make it a more interesting plot point.

Sorry i meant John was the middle name of Dick Grayson. I dunno i just think it's weird. Nolan could have still used the alias name then revealing real name plot device without him being really called Robin and still end with him in the bat cave setting up the fact he'd be the new batman if that was the case. Why call him Robin when that's linked to the second most famous character in the batman franchise. I hate the idea of him replacing batman. That's just stupid so i'll believe it's Robin as most others do. Makes more sense that way. After all a lot of casual batman fans watch these movies and know robin only from the previous movies. They hear him say that name as a big reveal they will believe that it means he's batmans sidekick robin. Huge confusion otherwise
Of course it makes more sense for Blake to become Robin. But Bruce Wayne is presumed dead, and Dick Grayson took over as Batman when Bruce Wayne was presumed dead in the comic. when he came back Grayson became Nightwing again. maybe it's the same case.
I'd be ok with that. But the way i saw it was that now everyone thinks Bruce is dead maybe it just makes it easier for him to do the batman work without people presuming since so many people knew who he was now. Either way works for me. As long as John Blake aka robin is who i'd like him to be haha. I see John Blake as a new character as a new version of Robin. That makes sense too. Not dick Grayson but is a version of the Robin superhero.
So I saw DKR last night. My friend who is a huge DC fan was really pissed off about the changes to Bane's history and Robin as well.
Personally I thought it was OK and thought it ended really poignantly. The implied handing over of the baton from Bale to JG-L was a nice way to end the trilogy.
On the downside I felt that Bane wasn't as strong a character as he could have been and what was with Matthew Modine's character? He was a corrupt cop turned good cop turned coward turned hero. He kept changing personalities so often I couldn't keep up and was actually glad when they killed him if for no other reason than that I could stop wondering what kind of character he'd be next.
Also how does a few days in prison harden someone enough to go from cripple to super hero? The passage of time could have been demonstrated a little better during his time in the pit.
Ah well, it had a few loosely explainable plot threads and some awkward character development but I suppose you don't go to see a superhero movie with the expectation of credible story lines. As an action film it had everything and Anne Hathaway has always been a favourite of mine so seeing her in a skintight catsuit was not unpleasant in the slightest.

^^ Why I was pissed off at it too.

But, other than that, I thought it was okay, except the time management, that was awful. And the seen when Talia was taken by Bane, Then she was with Gordan and saw Bruce, then she was mysteriously with Bane again.
If you guys were not happy with Bane then just watch Batman & Robin again if you want to see what a really bad version of Bane is like
As for the time management

It was fine for me. When Bruce kept looking up at the TV showing the gothem footage it clearly said "day 84" at one point. Which showed just how long he'd been in there. I guess if you looked away at that point it would have been easy to miss but because i saw that it was fine for me.

Really Nolans bane could have been awful compared to the rest of the trilogies characters and it would still have been better than B&R's
I thought he was awesome, the few issues with him were not his character or performance but rather the back-story and writing.
