So I think I got my wife talked into getting a new T.V. and I just thought I would ask and see if anyone had any recommendations.

I have been eyeing the Samsung LED/LCD models like this one http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004NZBAF2/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER and possibly some Sony models as well.

I would like to go with probably a 55" model with a 120hz refresh rate. (I read that anything over that is just overkill)

3D would be a bonus, but it is not necessary for my main T.V.

I am trying to stay under the $1800 range.

What T.V. do you guys have? Any suggestions on models I should check out?

I am thinking with the Superbowl next weekend, this might be a good time to get a good deal.

I don't know much about TVs but I do know that LGs are supposed to have the best picture.

Doesn't the Sony 3d one you got for your ps3 accept television output as well?

If not personally i'd go for a Samsung. They make fantastic t.v's.
Spoiler: click to toggle

@berty. Yeah, I have been hearing good things about the LG's as well. I won't count them out.

@Sibry. My Sony display accepts inputs like Satellite, but it does not have a tuner built in. The display is in my office whereas the T.V. I want to buy now would be my main living room T.V.

Yes the Samsung t.v.'s have an awesome picture and seem to rate very well. So many great choices. I am hoping to get to Best Buy next Saturday. That way I can see a lot of them in action and do some comparing.

Thanks for your input guys. B)
