How’s it going guys? I’m Arachangel554 aka Jordan. I converted over to Battlefield from cod during Christmas. Much more strategy and skill involved then cod, and not as many snipers lol. Not to mention you get to be the air strike when in a jet which is cool. Found out about this clan though gun_52 who suggested I apply. I’m looking forward to learning more about PXR and playing with you guys :). |

Yeah, I told Sibry I was checking something and all of a sudden I got blindsided. "Oh this bastard is done ... Oh it's Arch. Well that's good then." And then you were a pain in the ass for the rest of the match, which is a good thing. Heh. So given the new patch, what are some of your preferred setups? I can't get a handle on anything and I really don't feel like spending hours sifting through weapon / attachment data to try and figure it out. I know SG was liking the 240B with flash sup. and bipod (sadly I don't have that weapon). I've noticed most matches where people are dominating it tends to be with a weapon I don't have unlocked. =( |

The patch really messed things up for a lot of us. All the weapons are different, the suppression effect is retarded. I think this patch was manly designed to silence a lot of the noobs who were complaining about getting killed to many time lol. Post patch however I started to use the G3A3. It is an incredible weapon if you can control it. Vary high damage, good accuracy and vary long range make it almost unstoppable at long to mid range. Because of the low clip size, low fire rate and vary high recoil however, I find it is less then optimal in close quarters. So I thought outside the box and started using an under barrel shotgun LOL. I also use a flash suppressor instead of grip. That seems to reduce the weapon recoil more. This combo I find makes it an extremely deadly weapon in all situations. The 44 magnum is is a good addition to make this setup even more deadly due to it's high damage. You do have to unlock the G3A3 in co-op tho :(. |

Yeah, I have all the co-op weapons. I got those within the first week I think. Sadly, all the Karkand assignments I'm just out of luck. I tried the G3A3 but I was ending up in mostly CQB. I'll have to try it with a focus on medium to long range. |

Ya Dice went overboard with the suppression effect. Using Squad cover/suppression helps a little I think. The other day I was taking fire from an MG, and one of his buddies tried to rush me. I pull out my shotgun close range and fire off too rounds to HIS FACE before he fires off a single shot at me. My rounds did not even do a dent when I saw he had 100% heath in the kill cam! The suppression effect is ridicules. Vanthem If I may make a suggestion if you still want to use the G3A3 try it with an under barrel shotgun. Even up against a Famas or F2000 you will win if you are close enough. |

Honestly, I love the new suppression. The game doesn't feel like Call of Duty as much, and suppression actually does what it's intended to do, suppress the enemy and provide covering fire. Arch, what you described sounds a lot like poor hit detection or lag. |

The only issue I have with that is I'm a full-on medic, Arch. That means throwin' medpacks. If I put the underbarrel attachment on there don't I have to replace my medpack with a MASS or whatever to utilize it (and gain the faster switching)? I believe I have it on there, just kind of sucks 'cause I can't bring myself to ditch the healing! Besides, I've been trying to use the L85 since I just unlocked it. Pretty solid gun.
No, it's bullet deviation caused by suppression. Er, well it's probably a bit of both, but still. Here, if you're pro mega-suppression, watch this video that highlights these improved gameplay changes and the enhanced level of skill we've all been privvy to. It is perfection. http://youtu.be/OxsbTjPe2fs |

Here's a more serious video showing the actual effect of mega-suppression. http://youtu.be/F5HBEIjp2Ho So, please, tell me how a game mechanic that penalizes accuracy (because hitting your target doesn't suppress them) and actually rewards missing your target first to induce suppression then spamming the hell out of 'em until you finish them off. BF3 is a game where low latency and playing on local servers with a solid internet connection puts you at a disadvantage against people on the other side of the globe. BF3 is a game where accurate fire is bad and inaccurate spam wins. It's appalling, Harlan. |

The bullet deviation is reasonable. In reality, if you had a guy firing at you with a rifle, bullets are whizzing by your head and hitting all around you, you're not going to pop up and hit him with accurate fire. It makes the game require more strategy. For instance, if I enter a firefight with a guy and I become suppressed in the middle of it, I normally try to withdraw from the engagement and attempt to flank him. Maybe it could be toned down a little, but I like the level of realism and strategy it adds. Also, pretty much any multiplayer game favors high pings, not just Battlefield. |

Okay, hold on. This is a video game, not reality. If I'm getting shot at in real life, my vision isn't going to blur to where I can't see the guy and I'm only not popping up because I don't want to get shot. You can bet when I do, I'm not going to have a crazy induced deviation. Blind fire is one thing, that's there to keep the other guys ducking. But training still teaches you to fire accurately when you do take an actual killshot. As someone that's about to go get shot at soon, maybe I'll change that opinion afterward, but from friends who've been in combat, not a one has said Battlefield suppression is anything like real life. Someone who was pro-suppression in the EAUK forums made a similar comment about added layer of strategy and I can agree with that in principle. Yes, if I get pinned down and suppressed, I should be able to call on my teammates to take the guy out. In that case it does add to teamwork. What generally ends up happening, however, is I just start bunny hopping like a mad man 'til I get to cover while firing some suppressing rounds at the guy as I'm on my way. Then we both hop around spamming each other and hope one of us gets lucky. This is the majority of what I see. Plus, in most conquest matches you're going to get swarmed from other directions while you're patiently asking your teammates to kill the guy blurring your vision. Rush is even worse with all the chokepoints and defenders being able to post up in covering positions. Realism shouldn't even be mentioned in regard to mega-suppression. There's nothing realistic about it. If I got shot at before mega-suppression, I still took cover. Only difference was I didn't have some random deviation to deal with generally, or at least not as severe. Lastly, yes, most multiplayer games are screwed up on latency advantages / lag compensation. Doesn't excuse Battlefield for continuing the trend though. |

You are correct. It's why i never use it as i'm a full on medic too. Also i feel like a bit of a noob using underbarrel attachments. But that might just be me As for the suppression. I do agree that it does add a new level of tactics to the game as you have to play and act differently towards it now and you can actually provide proper covering fire for a squad/team mate but it is a bit extreme. |
