Sir George Saxon Hello and good morning - welcome to Election Analysis 1990, the BBC's marvellous way of filling up the gap in programming this sunny Sunday morning. Throughout she show we'll be talking about the upcoming election, which is now just four days away, as well as finding the time to waste some of the license fee payer's money on the very latest prediction equipment. This is of course the first General Election in which the Liberal Democratic Party, formed out of the Liberal Party/SDP merger last year, will compete - and many expect them to do well. We'll leave the polls and all for later, but right now I shall pray that the technology is working and that we can cleverly link this studio here in Westminster with the Television Centre... Where, if we are lucky, they will have finished applying the finishing touches to Mr Kerr's make up... And it appears they have, Mr Kerr, how is the political landscape looking? |

David Kerr: I do apologise, George. I had to shout at some BBC Gremlins. The current political landscape is one of great interest and a damn sight better than the current make up landscape at the BBC. The left have seen a revival in the new decade but are as divided and fragmented as ever. Right now, I think there is a strong case for a moderate adminstration. |
