Where's Tina?!
|
Please, god no, not a Freema/Alesha centric I don't think I could live through that.A decent episode, yesterday, though not the best. The previous firmly stands as a season favourite for me. I don't honestly mind the 'centering' of Ben Daniels, looking at the promotional shot on the first page of this topic, it's rather clear they intend him to be the leading man, so to speak. He's a good actor, a good character, I see no wrong with having him as the lead of the piece, it makes the others no less major in their role on the show, but instead simply gives us a main character with which to identify with most. That said, it would be nice to see Bill Paterson or Bradley Walsh have an episode to fully show off their tremendous acting abilities. I'd give major credit to Walsh for pulling my attention and becoming my favourite character, despite the fact he's rarely seen after the first 20 minutes of each episode. |

Tina: Good news? Justine: Yeah, the hospital's okay'd my research, I'm going to speak to some critical patients today. Tina: Oh, that'll be jolly. ![]() Tina Fan | |

Word, Mark. Word. I don't know why she and James seem to be doing all the interviewing/investigative work, can't our two coppers do that so they're actually in more than 10 minutes of the episode!? I want more Walsh + Bamber I got a bit bored with this one actually. The plot was just... I don't know, I felt the way it was done was a bit cheesy. Like the mother of one of the deceased turning up at the police office with her son's things and giving that speech, and then later when she was all "oh you're all talk, I'll believe you'll help me when I see it" ... maybe my problem was just with her Oh and,
LOL! Can 'a bit more Bill' be, like, the slogan for this thread or something? ![]() |

I just wanted to thank those a few pages back who were nice to me, sorry I might have seemed snippy, and I didn't mean to imply people were being mean, because they weren't, I was just having a bad day Sorry.I've been continuing to really enjoy this series, it's my favourite on television at the moment, and I'm very pleased to see everyone here is enjoying it equally now, too! |

Don't worry hidden_locket, we all have bad days, no need to feel bad ![]() I have to say Mark, I'd never really looked at the promotional poster, but now I do.... it does look like Ben Daniels is the intended lead, for sure. Still, here's hoping Bill has an episode with.... a bit more of him in it, coming up! ![]() Anyway, I've seen the episode now, and generally agree with the above points. A good one, but not the best so far. And I did get a bit lost in the plot half way. Edited by Erica, Apr 5 2009, 02:29 AM.

Is the eppy tomorrow the last one in a while? I'm looking forward to it, but yeah, I agree with the griping that Ben Daniels gets so much air time and development compared to everyone else, and as much as I like him, I wish it was more equal. |

Yep! Tonight's is the last one, I think it's been split up into two pieces of a season, and the 2nd part will be shown...later... this year? there will probably be an announcement after the episode's been shown.
I'm kind of curious about this as well! |

That looked like the end, didn't it? So they must've known there would be a break in the series. It's a shame there was no announcement about when it'd be back, though. I quite enjoyed that episode, but unlike all previous ones it was a little marred for me by the silliness of Alesha and her secret spy mission to catch the pervy doctor! I know nothing about the law, but even I could see the problems of entrapment it would cause for the case I think Freema did well acting wise in this episode, but the bizarre actions of her character, who's supposedly an experienced prosecutor!, threw me a bit.....There was a bit more of Bill Paterson, though! ![]() |

Silliness of Alesha? More like blind stupidity If TPTB were trying to make me feel sympathy for her and egg her on to win the case, then they did a very bad job of it. By the end I just felt irritated by her lack of any common sense! Who'd want to hire her as a prosecutor when she doesn't even seem to understand basic law?! |

Was that the end to the series? What a great finale! Alesha was drive by emotion rather than logic which I think fairly excuses her actions, I really felt for her

I don't know if that's the end, I'm kinda confused about it all now There's a split? Uh... I have no idea.I think I got that Alesha was emotionally involved and so wasn't thinking straight, but why did James have to explain to her how the law worked and how she shouldn't have done what she did, isn't she meant to have the same job as him? For a little while I actually thought they were going to let the pervy doctor get away with it all ![]() |
