I really hate Alesha, or more like I hate the writers for making me hate the only main female character on the show. ![]() And Bill's wasted so much

Bill's got a really bad character to play too, he's just bitter and moany, always telling Freema what she shouldn't be doing, it's a big waste of his talent, you wouldn't even know he was a good actor from this. |

Where's Tina?!

Well you can't expect much from ex-Torchwood writers ![]() The first return episode wasn't up to much, but the second was a vast improvement. Though I did guess the plot, and the mother's involvement, about as soon as it was mentioned Jodie lived with her dad. The stories are predictable, and that's without having seen any of the American versions first, but it's fast paced and quite well acted, a nice way to while away an hour. It's too short, that's the problem. To fit the entire crime investigation and court case into under an hour? It's ridiculous, and that's why it always feels so rushed, and there's barely any time for character development from our main lot. What did we get this week, that Bradley Walsh had a first wife? It's hardly development, but that's obviously not what the show is about. I have to question why they hire Bill Paterson and the fabulous Harriet Walters and then give them five minutes screen time between them, it's shocking. The writers don't know what they're wasting, there. |

Tina: Good news? Justine: Yeah, the hospital's okay'd my research, I'm going to speak to some critical patients today. Tina: Oh, that'll be jolly. ![]() Tina Fan | |

I thought the woman playing the mother was very good, though I didn't quite understand her reasoning for the kidnapping. She wanted to kidnap Jodie to raise money so that she could steal her away from the father and "be a good mum", as she put it? Is that what it was? I can't tell if the flawed logic was intentional or not ![]() As usual, Bradley Walsh shone in the episode, Bill Paterson was sadly under used, and Jamie Bamber looked pretty. That about sums it up? |

well to be honest, Mark, the eps are ripped from the American episodes almost to a T, so its not like the writers have much room with it. Also consider that they need to fit the case and the trial into one episode, with advert breaks. Yeah, Afterglow, that was the motivation, and yeah I thought she was good too that was my favourite of the new lot of episodes so far. I wasn't keen on the newest one with the homeless guy in the neighborhood, I felt sorry for him, but I didn't believe that father guy would murder him so brutally like that just cause he was annoying. it didn't make sense to me ![]() And then at the end when he said to the tall lawyer guy "I'd do it again" what a lame villainous line.

Well everyone upset by the lack of Bill so far must have been pleased with last night's episode, right? xD I was babysitting my niece, so I kept missing chunks of story, but Bill was just great with what he was given. Finally a chance to see him act on this show! For the first time I was excited when they passed the case over to the lawyers, usually I find the second half the most boring. What did everyone else think? |

Bill Paterson was immense last night, that was quality tv I soooo agree they've underused him but here he could finally shine, and boy did he. specially against the likes of Freema and her "acting" I keep forgetting bout this place! But L+O UK is great tv, although usually there's not enough Bill Paterson in it for my liking, yeah. It's been a great series so far! Next week looks exciting.... |

And Denis Lawson, it was cool seeing him and Bill Paterson act together. I enjoyed it, it was great to finally, you know, see Bill act at all. |

Sceptical Ghost
|
I watched the latest eppy... though still confused, is this a repeat of it or has it never been shown before? Either way, I'd never seen it, and really really enjoyed having it back! Bill got a bit more airtime than usual, Jamie Bamber looked very cute, Freema wasn't too annoying, and I really liked the plot. Well, not liked, it was quite depressing, and obviously made me think of the real story to which it was based on with the little boys , but it was all acted so well, I especially thought the little girl who bit her nails was superb.8/10 marks! |

it's new, and according to my tv guide this is series 3!!! I'm so confused, yeah.anyways, apparently there are 7 eps, 6 left. was it based on that story? I thought these were all taken from american eps made years ago? In fact, I was just watching This Morning (lol, not something I do, it was just on in the background) and Jamie Bamber was on talking about it and saying how the stories were timeless because of that. Apparently they had to use the american stories. He also says his character Matt was abused as a little boy. I so don't remember that! |
