OK, I've done some other activities and tried to calm down. I'm still really excited about what happened, but I'm beginning to process the repercussions of what just happened.

First off, I really feel like I have now made the moderator's choice worthwhile. I have to think that, given there were a tonne of applicants for this game, I was a rather unconventional choice, and a risky one. Thus once I was chosen, I was really shocked and knew I had to try to make it worthwhile for the mods who chose me and the spectators whose space I'm potentially taking.

And omg, I feel like that moment right there--that string of four of five Butter Pecan posts in which I incoherently ramble my way to unscrambling the puzzle in five minutes--feels like the first major moment of the game. I know when the times are revealed 5 minutes is going to be the winner by far and the other teams are going to wtf all over themselves. I can imagine Reck Rainbow Swirl's fun brand of shock, I can imagine being in the spectator forums and discussing this. This is all very cocky, but I can just feel the pulse of the happening. I mean, for a good 3 to 5 minutes afterward, I was giggling in my mind and sometimes audibly, and I had to go gulp down a glass of tea, and i'm still kind of bubbly about it. It was great.

I really think if Fresh Fig hadn't scared me into an eleventh-hour strategy situation I would've taken a little longer. That last post especially--considering the word "CHALLENGE" as a possbility sort of broke the whole thing apart for me and I was able to solve it. Essentially, once I saw "challenge" with a period and the middle letters of the next word the same I knew it was "good luck!" and then my mind just sort of went into fight-or-flight mode with ABSOLUTELY NO REGARD for the rest of my team and I began to work backwards for a while, until I hit a sticking point with the three or so three-letter words in a row. Then I went to the beginning, where the tricolon crescendo of the tribe names was really helpful, and then I just sort of pieced it all together. The difficult part toward the end was when it said "only one of you can win", because I didn't think two tribes were going to tribal council so I thought that was weirdly wrong but it's not, lol, and now I realize it is about the competitors. So yeah, I just sort of flurried through it. OMG IT WAS AMAZING.

But now . . . there are repercussions. For starters, I sort of left 2 PMs on the table which are still at the moment unchecked. I thought I wouldn't have time to check them before the challenge and I didn't want to distract a fellow competitor. So those being tabled coupled with my solo annihilation of the challenge makes me look really ruthless--you can sort of sense it in HunCal's post afterward, even though it looks like she's joking. I also feel like I've accidentally poised myself as this "obvious veteran" even though I'm not that much of a player, which sticks weird. And of course, people are going to see right through it when they know how much I shy away from strategy. But anyway, the effects are emerging: I was creeping on the active member list and HunCal and RS-Tea are PMING BUT THEY ARE NOT PMING ME HMMMMM and Fresh Fig, after his big "guys let's organize!!!! post" just sort of nope'd away after we completed the challenge.

So yeah, it's great that I have to believe we're pretty much fo'sho guaranteed another few days in this game, but I feel like my overachieving has been if anything a huge detriment to my position in this game.

:S yayyy and we're only like 3% into the game :S
