Character Rules
- Characters must be approved by a staff before you may post in the main roleplaying formums. This is done so that characters on SWT adhere closely to Star Wars canon and do not "god-mode", and to ensure the best roleplaying experience for everyone on the site!
- You may create as many characters as you wish (with one week between each character approval), but it is heavily recommended that you be reasonably active with the ones you have before pumping out scores of them.
- OC's may not be related to canon characters. Otherwise, everyone would be Cody/Finn/Ran Harkas's sister/brother/kid/cousin. Be original!
- Any face claim belonging to a member who has not logged in for over one year will be put back up for grabs. In the event that the original owner returns from the depths of the internet after an entire year has passed, the new owner of the face claim wil retain ownership, as after a year, we're pretty much certain the first member is inactive.
- You may only create races canon to the Star Wars franchise . Mutants and Hybrids are heavily frowned down upon, and will be reviewed with extreme scrutiny. Just ask yourself, 'would Lucasarts put this in one of their movies/series/games?' Chances are, they wouldn't if it's very far-fetched, therefore it doesn't belong on SWT.
- Characters must be of 'legal' age for their given species. Playing a child/minor character is allowed in some rare cases, but Star Wars is in the respectable fictional world an harsh adult galaxy, and it is entirely too easy for a child to fall into questionable situations that the staff would rather not have occur on SWT.
- Concerning Rank, please keep age in mind. Officers in the military require a great deal of experience and training. Anything over O-3(Lieutenant) or E-6(Staff Sergeant) for a 25 year old would be very unlikely.
- Posting in another member's application thread is strictly prohibited, regardless if it's been approved or not. It is advised that members avoid posting trivial things in their own applications/biographies anyways, as it just leads to clutter. Advise on creations are welcome but please keep it to a PM. comments on application pages should be limited to Staff members performing reviews and the party wanting approval. Since a member can always request to have the application re-reviewed for changes made, this rule still stands post-approval of the member's application.
- We take artists very seriously, and as such, we have strict rules regarding the images used to depict things on MEU - Do not use any copyrighted artwork without explicit permission from its creator.
- You may edit a character that you have already had approved, but for significant changes, it still need to be approved again. Small alterations like adding an inch or two onto their height is insignificant and doesn't need staff attention; however, for things like big history overhauls, changing their skills, etc, will need another approval. If there's any question whether you need re-approval or not, ask a staff member.
- Bios must be a minimum of two paragraphs and timeline bios are not allowed.
- Staff will NOT be conducting covert/pseudo character [or the like] reviews via PM or any other medium other than via the submission thread to which your character is being reviewed. We like to maintain transparency here on SWT and having a Character that was at first denied approval pending edits suddenly getting approved with no audit trail visible for other staff/members to see raises questions that frankly shouldn't need to be given cause to get raised. Similarly, any kind of appeal you make will ALSO be done in the submission where you will formally ask [politely!] the respective Team Admin [or in the case where your submission is neither a character or a lab then you can opt for either team admins] to take over the review from here.
Temporal Character Restriction:
- Characters are not allowed to create any Sith, Jedi, force-sensitive related characters. This rule can be edit in the future in the course of development and evolvement of the site.
- Any ranks or positions above Commander (Navy)/Lieutenant Colonel(Army)/Colonel(Trooper) are not allowed, we need a steady foundation of characters to form teams first. This includes also everything above Regiment/Capital Ship positions.
