-it has more than 3 buttons (unless its a nano pet)
-it doesn't have the same background as a v1, v2, v3, v4 has.
-it is v6,v7 v8 or higher.
-it doesn't have a tamagotchi character on the screen
-it doesn't have the same icons a real tama has.
-it hasn't got a shop and hasn't got more than 3 games. (unless its a v1)

This is how to tell your tama isn't fake:

-it has the tamagotchi characters in in it
-it says its made from bandai
-it has games.
-it has the same packaging as the real tamagotchis do.

if you meet a seller that is trying to sell a fake, ignore he/she or them.
try not to get into alot of trouble with them as they can do something bad to you.

these are tips of how to not get in trouble when meeting a fake seller:

-ignore them
-say you don't have any money at all. ( if u say u don't have enough money, they will try to discount and make u buy it)
-say u r not allowed to buy these stuffs. then quickly walk away.
-pretend u didn't here. just quickly walk away.
-tell them you hate those stuff anyways and were never interested.

why you shouldn't bother with them.

-they may tell u something bad they will do to you if you don't buy it.
-they will swear on you and punch you or something

what to do if they said they will do something bad to u if u don't buy it:

-just give them the money
-if there's a guard, police or your parents around. go tell them
-quickly run away
