Hmm, I can't access the file for some reason, it keeps telling me that I'm logged out even though I'm not. I'm a programmer, you've seen what I can do. (PA Chat, I wrote it entirely) It took me over a year to get the chat as complete as it is, just working on and off. I hope you realize what you are getting into, trying to make a game. I don't know what you're using to make your game, but if you want a professional game, you will have to use something like C++ and DirectX or openGL. If it's a 2D game, you could just paint directly to a window, but it would probably be better to use DirectX or OpenGL in 2D mode. (Well, OpenGL doesn't have a 2D mode per se, but you could simulate it by not specifying the third dimension and leaving the camera still) Either way, you'll need years of programming experience. I still an not qualified (in my mind) to write computer games. This semester, I'm taking a Game Programming course so after that, I'll be able to. I don't know what Gamemaker is, but to make a professional looking game, you'll need to use something else i'll bet. Sounds like it's too simplified, because it doesn't sound like you have any programming experience and you're using it...no offense. I might be misjudging, but anything that does not have you writing the code yourself (like declaring variables, initializing display settings, calling Windows APIs, etc) will probably not be able to create a professional looking game. Now, if you're just looking to have some fun, by all means, do try GameMaker, I'm just trying to point out that you'll probably run into it's limitations eventually. Agagin, I've never even heard of gamemaker, so I cant be sure of that. ~Aaron~ |
