I absolutely loved this chapter because it is about Dwarves and I've liked Dwarves since forever (even more since it's the race we have the less insight of in LotR) and I've always been curious about them, their culture and stuff. Now I know why it is that they don't get along with Elves, too, and why they're generally reserved towards other races. Didn't take any notes because like i said, the book has a more story-like narration now and it's way easier to read it. |

I was surprised to read about the dwarves... I guess I never really thought about where they came from at all, I didn't even notice that they didn't come from Eru so reading this was really interesting! Can't wait to read more about them when they finally awake again! :3 Also, is this kinda the creation of the Ents?? I got all excited reading the part about Yavanna's creations because the Ents are supposed to be really really old so that's probably what that was about? :D |

I also really loved this chapter and learning about how the Dwarves came to be. I didn't know anything at all about them prior to reading this, so it was really interesting. Like Laura, I also thought of Ents near the end of the chapter, although I'm not completely sure if that's what was actually being talked about. I hope we get to learn more about them though because I really love the Ents. :) Also does anyone know what 'kelvar' and 'olvar' means? My notes: Page 1 |

I was thinking that Kelvar are probably animals and Olvar are plants, since it was said that the Kelvar could defend themselves whereas the Olvar can't. Not entirely sure, just made sense to me :) |
