Ok so I continued reading a bit and if I've gotten it correctly Aman is the country on which Valinor lies (though I'd like someone to confirm that since all the places and names are reaaaally confusing to me!).

On another note, for people who like metal/hard rock music, I can recommend this album by Blind Guardian, it's called Nightfall in Middle-Earth and it was specifically inspired by The Silmarillion so it's kinda fitting... If you like that kind of music of course x) I'm all about that jazz anyway so it's perfect for me but not for everyone. Even though that sort of music isn't really for me, I listened to a couple songs and that's so cool it's all about The Silmarillion! I really liked Eldar. I might have to download that one. :)

Hey, arkenstonc and multifandommadnesses, Aman is the land in the West of the sea where the Valar live. Is not in Middle-earth. I actually can't see the real difference between Aman and Valinor, they are the same thing in my head although Valinor is described as "the land of the Valar in Aman" which give us the idea that Aman is something bigger. And Valimar or Valmar is the city of the Valar. And Noldor is one of the three "families" of the Eldar. They are the most famous and the ones who will make all the mess in the Quenta Silmarillion. :)
