Demo recording in Q3 is not implemented properly, not even after all the years of patching Q3, which is something really amazing. Anyway, you can record demos without problem by tricking Q3 that way: bind F5 "g_synchronousClients 1;record;g_synchronousClients 0" bind F6 "stoprecord" Change F5/F6 if you like. Feel free to record cheaters and send us demos. We will ban them all. For playback and review you can use following keys during playback: bind INS "timescale 1" bind DEL "timescale 0.2" bind PGUP "timescale 25" bind HOME "timescale 5" ( adjust keys and values as needed ) You play demos by putting them to ../Quake III Arena/baseq3/demos directory and use in-game Demos menu. You can also run then from console with /demo demoname (without extension). |

bind F5 "g_synchronousClients 1;record;g_synchronousClients 0" bind F6 "stoprecord" Replace F5/F6 with any key you want. Don't ask why but setting synchronousClients to 1 and then back to 0 works. Demos are auto-numbered and named like demo0001.dm_68 and put into /Quake III Arena/<gamedir>/demos directory. For regular server it would be /Quake III Arena/baseq3/demos while for Vogon servers it is /Quake III Arena/vogon-????/demos, depending on which server you are when recording. We use different dirs, so you can have custom settings, maps, demos and screenshots for each server. After you recorded it, you can send any great demo or demo of someone cheating to us at vogonhq[at]gmail.com. There is no limit on stuff you can send, just try to stop demos when map is over, 1 map = 1 demo is best and most convenient. Before sending you should zip them to save some space and preserve file integrity. |

Try this, also clear other configs, increase wait if needed: bind F5 "g_synchronousClients 1;wait 8;record;wait 8;g_synchronousClients 0" bind F6 "stoprecord" |

I'm glad i wasn't the only one who wrote LOL First the guy started bashing the server for having excessive mod....Because he said that i decided to spec him to see how he played. Right away i noticed his aimbot. I tried to keep it silent at first until he bashed the server again and said everybody was a pussy. Then i tried to get in touch with you guys. Anyway, i'll make an effort to just demo next time HAHA |

You can just write down nick or make a screenshot with his nick somewhere (coz sometimes nicks are too obscure) and then send to us. Always ZIP/RAR screenshots. Found it... 0:17 DarthCootie: kal is using 0:34 DarthCootie: look at his score already 0:46 DarthCootie: he had 100 or so on last map, then switched teams OK will ban, but tell me nick and server when it happens again, so i don't waste time checking all of the players for past 2 weeks, which means 0.22 sec wasted (which is 220 000 000 nanoseconds). |

Thanks DYN and i do appologize for not getting you that info...I gave it to DOC and just assumed that it was passed on.....I will definitely get demos and let you know next time....As it turns out, I haven't seen too many botters come around lately....I think people are starting to get the IDEA lol RS, when you spec a player you are suspicious of cheating as you did KAL.....If you notice that his movement is very awkward and always snaps to an enemy and fires....This particular person had it set so that his crosshair would adjust automatically to point and stay pointed at the enemy. No normal player in a normal CTF space map, should ever get almost 400 points in a match.... Also RS most aimbots work best with rail....This guy used all rail. He would jump in the air and hit 5 guys on the other side of the map before he landed.....I'd say that's a bot LOL.....Plus i could see it |

Many thanks for all the great work you do, Dyn. I just started playing on the VogonHQ servers just a couple of weeks ago, and I'm hooked. I'm no longer bored of Quake3 anymore! Take care, Irideck |
