In response to questions about my previous posts for something different as a competition, well, here ya go! INSANE - Sergeant Slaughter FFA Unfair? Stupid weapon combinations? Of course -- that's the point! As the bot skills and weapons improve, the maps get bigger and more complex, which then requires improved skill and tactics on the players' part and increases the chances for bots ambushing the players. Whack-A-Mole gets to fight back! What? No Hook? Well, start practicing your jumping then... preferably away from the incoming grenades, heh heh heh.... And -- you are always outnumbered at least 4:1 -- assuming the other players don't come after you! Muwhahahhahaha.... P.S. - No whining about the Fog Map or No Splash Rail-- It's supposed to be a challenge! Nyah!

I sent Flesh some config files and he's playing with it. Not being a Q3 config weenie, my main problems were mixing files from the FFA pack with files in the minipack since (at least in my machine) they were in two different subdirectories -- baseq3 and VogonFFA. The other problem was getting the bots to update (or drop and reload bots) with the appropriate skill level for each round. I've no idea on how to assign and limit weapons to the bots and players by round, so that was for another day. Havent' heard much from him lately, so this is just a "howzit goin" message. Thanks for the interest Dyn! |

I think we can do this on server, it would be hard to do with regular Q3. Hm... I need to do few things but i can make config for this. We also can adjust bot power, relative to weapon power. I added CVAR vg_botPower which can be anything from 0.001 to any factor you want. When 1.0 it means bots are equal in power to players, if 0.5 all weapons they use have half damage. I wouldn't recommend going over 2.

Ahhh.... bot power... I was referring to bot skill level -- Round 1 Bot level 1 -- unarmed, walking and stupid. By Round 5, Bot level 5 Nightmare -- armed, skilled and limited only by their weapon -- gernades vs player splash BFG. Mmmm...OK? |
