Thank You everyone it really means a lot. He was a great man getting ready to retire and spend a lot of time here with us to be with his grandsons. It has been pretty hard as it happened very suddenly and no one expected this outcome. He went in for surgery to remove the prostate cancer he had and was expected to recover in 2 months, but from what we know now the surgery caused another cancer, laying dormant in his kidney that no one knew about, to become irritated and grow rapidly and out of control in his body. ... To top it all off 2 days after my father's passing (while I was still back home visiting) we had a tornado come through the neighborhood I live in. Thankfully no one was hurt in our area - just a lot of damage to houses, 100+ foot trees up-rooted and all over the place (in yards, on houses, in the streets) and debris everywhere. Seems like it actually formed over my neighborhood according to eye-witnesses - then momentarily touched down before staying tree-top level and just 'sucking' everything up and throwing shit around; Quite a mess to come back to, to say the least. Thank you all again - it'll probably be a while before you see me out on the servers but eventually I'll be back. |

Different people handle loss in different ways, Exe, and I'm sure that coming home to the mess you did probably didn't help the melancholia much. I'd like to say that your father is in a better place, not suffering, and all that fun crap, but it's small consolation when you're grieving and just want to see them again, if even to give a hug. Our thoughts, prayers, and healing energy are all directed toward you and your family, man. Take care, and heal rapidly. Hope to see you in-game soon! |

Executor my husband was diagnosed with serious cancer 3 years ago when he was just 51. I have a pretty good idea what cancer does to a family and it is truly hell. (luckily my husband is surviving) I am sorry it had to strike your dad at all, never mind just before retirement. Shoot. Also, sorry for the delay in condolence, we have moved and do not have internet yet so I must use an unsecure wireless connection in the meantime, very slow. Well when I feel down playing Quake gives me a good refuge even if just for a few minutes to take your mind off things. Best wishes to you and your family. |
