If you are going to leave your computer. Look away from it. Scratch your ass. Or what not. For more then a minute, PLEASE SPECTATE. Really, no matter what you want to say, a player that is actually fighting on your, be it computer or not, is better then nobody at all. I've had people say "who cares if I was afk, not like a computer would help much anyways, they suck" They really don't. Wether it's for distraction, defending the flag, capturing it, w/e. It's better to have them as a player, then not have a player at all. K, i'm done my rant. Hopefully people will actually read this and take it into consideration, and admins will start kicking people for doing this. I forget the names of the ppl who do, but there are some who do it on a regular basis. Y'all know who you are. |

yea i am one that tends to do that at times... you know that some of us have children and when there is a problem i am sorry i will leave and get my child first..... espically if it is an emergency!! and not really right for you to tell ppl what to do in a sense... yea i know that it can be annoying at times but why don't ya ask the person there are reasons at time.... not just doin it at you..... |

Maybe this can help when you need to attend something and have no time to manually switch to spec mode: /bind F4 "team s" -- then press F4, it will take a sec only. Or put bind F4 "team s" to autoexec.cfg or q3config.cfg. Replace F4 with any key you prefer. Hope that helps! |

I can't ask them when they aren't there. If it's an emergency, ya sure obviously do the most important thing, nowhere did I say "if your child is dying, make sure you spectate before you leave" (exageration ofc), but if it's to take a piss or take a dump (pardon my language) to get a snack, to go calm down a crying baby?? Go spectate. It takes all of what, 3 seconds to turn to spectate? not even.. And saying that i'm "telling people what to do" is a pretty stupid thing to say. That's like saying that dyn and everybody should tell people not to cheat. Because ofc, we shouldn't tell people what to do. Why do we suggest (tell) people not to cheat? it ruins the game for other people. Why am I asking people to spectate? because when they're afk it ruins the game for other people. This isn't up for arguement, i'm not pointing out names, saying people should spectate in emergencys, or anything unreasonable whatsoever. If you don't have time to spectate, Just do what dyn said one game when you aren't busy. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Maybe this can help when you need to attend something and have no time to manually switch to spec mode: /bind F4 "team s" -- then press F4, it will take a sec only. Or put bind F4 "team s" to autoexec.cfg or q3config.cfg. Replace F4 with any key you prefer. Hope that helps! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Who needs to waste the 3 seconds turning to spectate, now you can just press one button and off you can go for your piss/snack/baby or what not. So i'm asking. Please take into consideration your teammates, wether you like them or not going afk in a game is pretty mean. Thanks. |

That is totally unreasonable, Levis!
Nah, I agree 100% And, while I will stop to say "Hi, how are you" when I see someone logs on... it is a completely different story when the only other human on my team is just standing around having a conversation with the four people in spec. Have a little empathy people. |

Well guys, i'm the resident bitch so it shouldn't be surprising that I'm adding my 2 cents LOL
Anyway, I have at times forgotten to go to spec so i've been guilty myself. I do understand the frustration though when you might be playing against 3 real people and all you have is a BOT and one person who went afk and didn't go to spec. Well at this point i basically have a BOT as an easy target and i'm defending myself against 3 players. It's not fun hearing the other team score 4 times in a row because I couldn't be all places at once. Babygrl, I understand your feelings and I have griped before about you leaving without going to spec. I do appologize if I was rude and YES!!!!! Your kid comes first no matter whether it's just a situation of crying or an emergency. Hell I forgot to go to spec this morning and another player on my team also did the same thing. So it was 3 players against one. Not fair for the person who is trying to play the game without any help. Anyway, Lots of people do this and I really doubt it will change. Hopefully though more of the regulars who play will be a little bit more concious and considerate of their teammates. |

Babygrl you're taking this way too personally. <_< I already said ya sure the baby comes first, but you can stop assuming most people are sitting in the game because they had to take care of a baby or had an emergency. I haven't even noticed you or cc do it.. and if you do it's only for like 10minutes or w/e, i'm talking about people who do it REGULARLY and for a long time. And if it is the baby every time, and it is going to take that long, or you go afk every game, you can just leave the game you know. ESC -> exit. not that hard, you're making it sound like it takes ages to spectate, or leave a game.. it really doesn't.. |

Slightly off topic - but if those 'bots' suck so bad I can definately 'turn them up' and have them whip everyone's ass all the time
Just ask Skid and Cootie - after the last tourney I cranked the bots up to 'max' on the server and we had one hell of a time trying to just get the flag and return it. They can be bad-ass mofo's .... we just have them on 'dumbass' setting because most complained they were too good In game vs spectator ... yes people should have the respect to put themself in spectator mode if at all possible. Yes there are situation where WE can't because of an emergency. I too have done this in the past and yes it usually involves parents playing on the server. ... you're tooling along kicking ass in an intense round on the map and them all of a sudden you hear some blood curdling screams, it's your child and you JUMP to see what's the matter - yes the last thing on your mind at that moment is 'spectator' mode. But yes - those that feel the need to leave a present for 'nature'; quench their thirst; get some chicken in the microwave and munch on it..... have some consideration for those that are still playing. Me personally - I'll kick your ass off the server ( not ban ) when it happens and I'm playing 4 v 3 ... 4 real people against me, a bot and an AFK ... I'll take the additional bot over someone standing in the corner being a free frag
