Yea, can be fun, but depends on speed of the mod too. We have something similar when you get powerups and Flight kills you. I added CVAR to set the time, right now it's 30 sec. Another thing i experimented with was getting health and armor for damage inflicted. Code to do that is commented out (inactive), but i can enable it sometime and we can test how it works. One more thing we can do is negative health and armor regen. |

I like this effect too. More events are now rewarded with higher scores, some of them were 0 previously, which was also responsible for more camping, as you said. We can adjust things per-map, especially on space maps where camping is bigger problem. |

K, I haven't been able to play too much lately, but I am digging the new settings. The new BFG is taking some getting used to, but that's no big deal. I love the ammo caps, especially for myself because it ensures that I don't spam (That MG is too precious in a pinch to waste ammo spamming). I REALLY LOVE the team power-ups... this adds a whole new VOGON-esque quality to the CHAOS server, because it allows more people to have power-ups at one time, love it, love it, love it. I really like the new scoring, as it rewards all the different aspects of the game. That combined with the ammo limits has really cut down on spam. Is it gone? No... and that's fine, but there is definitely less of it. My only concern is the rail bonus on the BFG... as I stated in the older thread on this topic, one of the things I like about the BFG is the heavy delay from shot to impact, that's the price you have to pay for using this "B-F-G" ;). I would prefer to have no rail attached to the BFG. I know that there are those who probably disagree with me on this topic, but that's just my opinion. Peace out. |

Since we're coming up on the CTF Tourney, may I suggest you pick a point REAL SOON and freeze the settings? Then announce the freeze, the current features, and we'll all just have to practice and play with that. Your server, your settings, no whining. We'll deal with it. OK? |

Settings are same for past 3/4 days and we don't plan to change anything unless players or admins request something important to be changed. About tournament, i usually provide extra q3 server and admins take care of tournament, suggest maps and settings. |

dyn!!!!! Settings rock! I admit it took some time for me to get use to them. The game play felt slower at one point. Now there's no more spamming, which i was guilty of a little bit. I now have to choose my targets more carefully and switch weapons for different situations, it's great. It just adds another spectrum to the game. This is a great place! |

If you need additional Ventrilo server, we can set one up, but first check this topic. |

Hey Dyn, It appears as though Ventrilo might not work for Win2k users -- see http://forum.vogon.vg/index.php?showtopic=...0&#entry4484091 -- so should we set up a teamspeak server as well? Thanks! |

OK with me, but w2k can run Ventrilo client as well. You need at least SP3/SP4 and latest DX. Maybe something else too, but i think that's it. |

I noticed the post, and I stand suitably corrected! Ventrilo works great for me...just so long as we have separate channels for separate teams, it'll be awesome. |
