My definiton of camping is staying in one spot and never leaving. But when people say camping is "noobish" there's many possibilities.. If I have the flag in ctf, and see a guy following me, I turn around sit in a spot and wait for him to run past me.. it's strategy. There are different levels of camping though, for example, you can't compare that type of "camping" to spawn camping, or sitting in one spot the entire game and shooting one entrence. |

my opinion of camping is this, camping refers to insta and ffa ONLY. camping is standing in a spot that is a definite "choke point", or where people fall from a platform, or other areas that people always seem to be and keep your finger on the trigger and dont stop! in CTF there is NO SUCH THING as camping. covering hallways, flagrooms, and "choke points" are necessary and you even SCORE POINTS for it. it is called DEFENSE!!!!!!!! ok im done Skidm@rk |

Camping can be called many things but in my eyes camping is: Glueing urself to a wall and basicly shooting the same spot the whole game and when you get killed you go back to the exact same place and do it again that IS camping and in my eyes is one of the lowest forms of playing But what it isnt is: Staying behind at ur base for 30-60 seconds to defend it then going off to get the flag and score and do it again But everyone's point of veiw is differnt so i would like to see all the other definitions but also babygirl why are you bringing this topic up? This is an VERY old thread i remember seeing a while ago by basicly everyone, in my opinion camping is a very tired old topic to be going over and over again and again! |

Well, the word camping in itself is just a term for staying in one spot. CTF is a team effort and defense game so camping is necessary. It becomes cheap in a free for all game where you are almost always the victor for just standing in one place and firing into the SO-CALLED choke point.
For the longest time, there was a player that ranked in the top position of the ANARCHY server because he would sit in one spot and spam into heavy populated parts of the map. Almost always this player would win the map and never at any time did this player have any skill. If you caught that guy running around you would almost always nail his ass LOL. He stopped winning when the ammo became so limited that he couldn't keep up. The biggest reason that people get pissed about camping is because they are working their asses off for a win, only to be robbed by a guy who spams from a hidden spot that sometimes is impossible to get him out of. Camping isn't always noobish. Some players are very experienced campers but catch them in the open and they will die by me every time LOL. Anyway, I don't really care about campers. Let them camp. They tell me where they are by their spammo trails. That's where I go get them at

yeah but pass through rail is mostly blind luck, and not skill LOL. Although I quite fancy that pass through rail at times. I love shooting flag hiders with it and watching it drop LOL. Then they are like "WTF MAN!!!!" And, for a camper it's gonna be a nightmare LOL. It's a fun tool but I guess i'm indifferent LOL |
